Resources for Parents
Mindful Parenting
Mindful parenting means that you bring your conscious attention to what’s happening, instead of getting hijacked by your emotions. Being a mindful parent means that you pay attention to what you’re feeling and provide a steady presence for your family. This session includes an overview of the science of being mindful, and essential mindful practices to improve your own and your child’s social and emotional skills.
We invite you to check out this video*from Mind Body Align on how to improve social emotional skills for you and your child.
We would also appreciate it if you would take a couple of minutes to provide us feedback by completing the survey below.
*This presentation features footage from the documentary short, “Release” by Julie Bayer Salzman, the educational video, Lesson 1 Mindfulness Basics,” by Mindfulness Without Borders, and the RSA video short, “Brene Brown on Empathy.”
